Location: Race headquarters will be located at Sailboat Cove Park at

Date: May 5th, 2012.
The Course: The course will consist of mountain biking 15-30 miles, trekking/running 5-10 miles, paddling 4-10 miles; all while using a map and compass to find your way through
the course. All racers will have up to 10 hours to complete the course. Smithville Lake and the surrounding area is a fantastic location for an
8-Hour adventure race with a beautiful lake, open fields and woods for running and some of the best mountain biking trails in the area!
Divisions: The race is open to 2-person and 4-person teams (co-ed, male and female).
Entry Fees:
Early Registration (ends at 10:59PM CT on 03/09): $79 per racer
Regular Registration (ends at 10:59PM CT on 04/13): $89 per racer
Late Registration (after 04/13): $99 per racer
* Registration closes at 10:59PM CT on April 27th.
Cancellation:
- $30 fee per racer if before April 13th.
- NO REFUNDS AFTER APRIL 13TH!
Awards Ceremony: There will be an awards ceremony at 5PM on Saturday after the race.

Additional Prizes:
The top three teams OVERALL will receive the FIRST three picks of prizes.
Prizes will be awarded 3 deep (1st, 2nd, & 3rd teams will have a choice of prizes from our great sponsors!) based on the number of teams participating in each division on the day of the race.
The following formula is applied:
1 - 3 teams participating in division --- Division 1st place awarded
4 - 5 teams participating in division --- Division 1st, 2nd places awarded
6 + teams participating in division --- Division 1st , 2nd, & 3rd places awarded
* All certificates for discounted entry are for the individual racer and not the entire team. Certificates do not expire. |
Lodging & Camping: Camping will be available for all racers at Smithville Lake. We recommend that you camp at Camp Branch Campground.
For more information on camping at Camp Branch Campground, please visit their website. The campground is only a few minutes away from Race Headquarters at Sailboat Cove. There is plenty of lodging available for
all racers within the vicinity of Smithville Lake. We recommend you search for hotels in Smithville and / or Kearney.
Post-Race: Bonk Hard Racing will be providing food and drinks after the race at the Awards Ceremony. There are showers located at
Sailboat Cove (Race HQ) for racers to use. Please bring a change of clothes and a towel and plan on sticking around after the race for the awards ceremony.
Check in: Racer check-in information will be announced at a later date.
Support Crew: The Smithville 8-Hour will not require a support crew and no racers are allowed to receive support of
any kind on the course or at the Transition Areas from anyone not participating in the race.
Volunteers: If you would like to volunteer for the Smithville 8-Hour, please
contact the race directors. Volunteers are an extremely important part of any adventure race, and
could not happen without you!
If you are unable to race, or just want to learn more about adventure racing and how it works, volunteering
is one of the best ways to do it. All volunteers will receive a discounted entry certificate for future Bonk Hard Racing events,
free race shirt (or other give-a-way) and food before and after the race. It's typically a lot of fun volunteering
at our events, so come and join us!
