Dates and Times:
Both the 12-Hour and 24-Hour races will start the morning of Saturday, March 24th.. The exact start time of the races will be announced at the pre-race meeting.

Racer check-in and the pre-race meeting will take place on Friday, March 23rd. Racer check-in will start at 3:30 PM and will remain open until 7:30 PM. The pre-race meeting will start at 8:00 PM sharp on Friday evening, which is when teams will receive all (or a portion) of their maps and course information for the race.

The Courses:
We are very excited about the courses for the 12 & 24-Hour races at Land Between the Lakes! This will be a true backwoods adventure!

Racers on both courses will see some of the highlights of this popular recreation area; including some of the best single track mountain biking trails in the Midwest. Racers should also come prepared for backwoods trekking and paddling on beautiful lakes all while using a map and compass to find your way from checkpoint to checkpoint.

The 24-Hour course will consist of 40-60 miles of mountain biking on paved and gravel roads, jeep roads and single track trails; running, trekking and bushwhacking 15-30 miles and paddling 15-25 miles.

12-Hour racers should come prepared to complete 20-35 miles of mountain biking, 10-15 miles of foot travel and 5-10 miles of paddling.

Both courses will be completely navigation based, and teams should be proficient with using a map and compass in order to finish the course. The Land Between the Lakes is an adventure racer's paradise, and you will not want to miss it!

A shirt can be purchased during registration for $12. As always, Bonk Hard Racing will be providing very high-quality, customized wicking performance shirts for the LBL Challenge. If you would like to purchase a shirt at the race, the cost will be $20, but it is not guaranteed that we will have any extra shirts on race day.

* Race fees include land use fees, high-quality maps, canoes, paddles and PFDs, insurance, post-race food and drink, prizes, give-a-ways, and one FANTASTIC adventure race!

Support Crew:
The LBL Challenge will not require a support crew, and no teams will be allowed to receive support from any person not racing. However, friends and family and any other spectators are encouraged to attend the race, and there will be ample opportunities for these people to watch the race. If friends and family would like to be more involved than a spectator, we are always looking for more volunteers for the event.

Volunteers:
Volunteering is an excellent way to get the feel and experience of an adventure race if you are unsure if you would like to participate. Also, friends and family of racers that are planning on coming to the race are encouraged to volunteer. Adventure racing would not be possible without the help of volunteers, and the LBL Challenge is currently looking for outdoor-minded volunteers that are willing to help with the race! All volunteers that can help for the duration of the race (Friday evening through Sunday) will receive a certificate for 75% off any Bonk Hard Racing event, free race shirts and food after the race!

There will be a pre-race volunteer meeting after the racer's pre-race meeting, around 9:00 PM on Friday evening. If you would like to be a part of this exciting event at Land Between the Lakes, please contact Bonk Hard Racing. Thanks!
