NEW FOR 2008: AN 8-HOUR COURSE!

Bundle up for this beauty of a race! With lots of single track mountain biking, lake paddling and orienteering in one of the most beautiful state parks in Missouri, Lake of the Ozarks State Park, the Bonk Hard Chill promises to be a challenging, fast and very fun race to start your adventure racing season! Typical of Bonk Hard Racing, you will have plenty of route choices, and this year's race includes an 8-Hour course! Teams of two or four will battle through beautiful forests with miles of trails, bluff-top views and beautiful lake paddling!

What:  8 or 18-hours of continuous mountain biking, paddling, running, trekking and orienteering at a beautiful location.

Where:  Lake of the Ozarks State Park, near Osage Beach, Missouri

When: February 9th, 2008

Format:  2-person and 4-person teams (male, female, co-ed)

* The top three 4-Person co-ed teams in the 18-Hour course will qualify to race at the 2008 USARA Adventure Racing National Championships, to be held in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia on November 7-8. The top 4-Person co-ed team in the 18-Hour course will receive $400 towards their entry into the National Championships, paid for by Bonk Hard Racing.




NEW FOR 2008: A 12-HOUR COURSE!

The Sunflower 12/24-Hour was one of Bonk Hard Racing's most fun and exciting races in 2007! This part urban, mostly backwoods race will have racers enjoying this race for up to 12- or 24-Hours, and all racers will enjoy some of the best single track in the region, lake paddling, river paddling, urban orienteering, backwoods orienteering, running and ropes! The Sunflower 24-Hour is also a Regional Qualifier for the 2008 USARA Adventure Racing National Championships; which are being held in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia on November 7-8! You will not want to miss the second edition of this exciting race!

What:  Up to 12- or 24-hours of continuous mountain biking, paddling, running, trekking, orienteering and ropes.

Where:  In and around Lawrence, KS

When: March 29-30, 2008

Format:  2-person and 4-person teams (male, female, co-ed)

* The top 3 co-ed teams in the 24-Hour course will be eligible to qualify for the 2008 USARA Adventure Racing National Championships. If one of the top 3 teams have already qualified for the race, the entry will roll down to the 4th place team, and so on, until it reaches a team that has not qualified for the race.

* The 2008 Sunflower 24-Hour is a part of the Checkpoint Tracker Adventure Racing Series.

Grab a buddy and prepare to get dirty! A SUPER FUN 6+ mile race where teams of two leap-frog between biking and running (or walking!) throughout the race! Special mystery obstacles about every mile throughout the race and a BIG, HUGE MUD PIT at the end! Make it a family event and bring the little ones to do the one mile Mini Dirty Duo before the big race...and you will not want to miss the post-race festival with music, food and plenty of cold refreshments! It is sure to be a great time! You will definitely want to bring some extra clothes for this race though, because you are guaranteed to get VERY MUDDY AND WET!

What:  6 miles of continuous biking and running while leap-frogging with your teammate throughout the race. Race includes mystery obstacles approximately 1 mile apart and a huge mud pit at the finish!

Format:  2-person teams only (male, female, co-ed, parent/kid, clydesdale and masters)




This 2008 Sunflower State Games race will be hosted by Bonk Hard Racing, and will take place the morning of the Dusk-2-Dawn Adventure Race. Come make it a full day of racing by doing both races! The Sunflower State Games Adventure Race will include mountain biking, trail running, paddling, and orienteering! This race is a great way for you (or your family, friends, and coworkers) to get your feet wet (literally) in the sport of adventure racing and live to tell about it. The course will range from 15 to 25 miles, and the expected winning time will be around 2 - 2 1/2 hours. Come do this unique, fast and fun race as a warmup to the Dusk-2-Dawn race later that evening!

What: Mountain biking, trail running and trekking, mystery events and canoeing, all while testing your skills with a map & compass!

Where:  Perry State Park, between Lawrence and Topeka, KS

The perfect race for beginners and experienced racers alike who want to go out and have some fun in the cool summer night! An 8 - 12 hour non-stop adventure starting at 9 PM on Saturday. Grab a light and enjoy the great single track mountain biking, trail running and hiking and paddling all while testing your skills with a map and compass! A fast and fun race for athletes of all skill levels!

What:  8 - 12 hours of continuous mountain biking, paddling, running, trekking and orienteering, all done during the cool of the night!

The Berryman 6/12-Hour Off-Road Duathlon is a unique race with a new format that will include trail running and mountain biking. Racers can expect to run and mountain bike the fantastic Berryman Trail for up to 6 hours or 12 hours! There will be a running loop and a mountain biking loop, and racers will try to complete as many laps as possible in the 6 or 12-hour time frame! Use this duathlon as a training event for the upcoming Berryman Adventure race, or try to beat Lullel Hickman's 12-hour course record or Beau Mooneyham's 6-Hour course record! Food and drinks provided after the race.

What:  6-hours or 12-hours of continuous mountain biking and trail running on the Berryman Trail

Where:  Berryman Recreation Area, near Potosi, MO

When: August 30, 2008

Format:  The Berryman 6/12-Hour Off-Road Duathlon is open to individuals as well as teams.




You will not want to miss the 8th running of the Midwest's Premier Adventure Race! Offering two different courses: 12-hours and 36-hours, the Berryman Adventure is a race for all levels! If you're out for a real adventure and to test your physical and mental limitations...you will definitely want to try the 36-Hour course! The Berryman Adventure is a Regional Qualifier for the 2008 USARA Adventure Racing National Championships, which will be held in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia on November 8-9! It's also the last event in the Checkpoint Tracker Adventure Racing Series. A MUST DO RACE!!

What:  The eighth running of the Midwest's premiere adventure race. The Berryman Adventure is backwoods adventure racing at it's best! 12-hours or 36-hours of continuous adventure racing through some of the most rugged and beautiful land in the Midwest.

Where:  Big Springs Park, Near Van Buren, MO

When: September 27-28, 2008

Format:
    12-hour Course - 2 person teams only (male, female, co-ed)
    36-hour Course - 4-person & 2-person teams

Located in the beautiful Castlewood State Park near St. Louis, teams of two and four will run, bike, paddle and orienteer their way through forests for up to 10 hours. Finish your adventure racing season with a fast and fun adventure, taking racers on great single track mountain biking trails and the beautiful Meramec River.

What: Up to 10 hours of running, trekking, paddling, mountain biking and orienteering in a beautiful Missouri State Park.
