12/06/2011 - POST-RACE UPDATE

A HUGE thank you to all the Castlewood 8-Hour racers who participated this weekend! We hope you found the course interesting, challenging, and fun with a couple of added twists! Congratulations to the team Alpine Shop for an incredible race and the overall winner of the Castlewood 8-Hour!

Ninety-three teams consisting of 270 racers headed out on a SPECTACULAR weather day racing to the finish line. Forty teams cleared the entire course! That is remarkable!

Bonk Hard Racing has OUTSTANDING volunteers! If it were not for quality volunteers, we would not be able to produce quality races. No bones about it. We are so deeply thankful for the those of you who volunteered at Castlewood. Your contributions made this one of the most amazing races yet. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We also would like to thank The Wyman Center for lending us the perfect venue for Race Headquarters. The Wyman staff went out of their way to make the accommodations perfect for our large group. Not to mention the spectacular setting, in which we were so fortunate to absorb all day long!

Also many thanks to the St Louis County Parks, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, the City of Eureka, and the City of Wildwood. This race covered a large area and many different governing entities. The support of these organizations, their staff members, police officials, and emergency personnel, allowed us to have a most superior race day!

Thank you to The Hampton Inn for providing out-of-towners with the most comfortable accommodations!

11/22/2011 - A FEW PRE-RACE NOTES!

Last Day to Register Nearing:
Don't be left on the sidelines for this year's Castlewood 8-Hour Adventure race. Registration closes this Sunday, November 27 at 11:59 PM. Register now!

Racer Check-In:
Racer check-in will take place on Friday, December 2nd at the Alpine Shop in Kirkwood at 440 North Kirkwood Road from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. All racers are REQUIRED to check in on Friday evening. Race related materials will be given out at racer check-in (or on Saturday morning before the race). There will be no pre-race meeting on Friday night. After 9:00 PM racer registration will be closed, and you will no longer have a chance to check-in and receive your race materials. If you cannot make it to check-in by 9:00 PM, please contact us as soon as possible!

Parking at the Wyman Center:
Parking at the Wyman Center is limited and is located throughout the complex. Teams are strongly encouraged to carpool. Be prepared to walk as much as 400 meters from your vehicle to the HQ.

Bikes in Boats:
This is Castlewood after all! Be prepared to transport your bikes in your canoe. How you choose to secure your bikes and gear in the canoe is at your discretion.
