Dates and Times: The Castlewood 8-Hour will start at 7AM on Saturday, December 6th and all teams should be
finished by 5PM. Racer check-in will take place on Friday, December 5th at the
Alpine Shop in Kirkwood from 4PM until 9PM. All racers are required to check in on Friday evening and there
will be a mandatory gear check of all the required gear for all racers when they check-in (excluding bikes). All maps and related materials
will be given out at racer check-in, and there will be no pre-race meeting on Friday night. After 9PM racer registration will be closed,
and you will no longer have a chance to check-in and receive your maps and all of your related race materials. If you cannot make it to
check-in by 9PM, please contact us as soon as possible!
The Course: The Castlewood 8-Hour course is going to be a very challenging and fun course!! It will consist of
mountain biking 10-25 miles, trekking/running 5-10 miles, paddling 5-10 miles, all while using a map and compass! All racers will have up to
10 hours to complete the course. Castlewood State Park and the surrounding area is a fantastic location for an 8-Hour adventure race!
Divisions: The race is open to 2-person and 4-person teams (co-ed, male and female).
Cost:
Early Registration (ends 10/3): $75 per racer
Regular Registration (ends 11/7): $85 per racer
Late Registration (after 11/7): $95 per racer

Awards Ceremony: There will be an awards ceremony at 5PM on Saturday after the race. Prizes will be awarded to the winning
teams, and there will also be food and drinks available for all racers after the race.
Cancellation:
$30 fee per person if before November 1st
No refunds after November 1st!
Lodging: There is no camping allowed in Castlewood State Park. All racers will be required to find their own
lodging for the race.
Check in: Racer check-in will be hosted at the

Support Crew: The Castlewood 8-Hour will not require a support crew. No racers are allowed to receive support of
any kind on the course or at the Transition Areas from anyone not participating in the race.
Volunteers: If you would like to volunteer for the Castlewood 8-Hour, please
contact the race directors. Volunteers are an extremely important part of any adventure race, and
could not happen without them. If you are unable to race, or just want to learn more about adventure racing and how it works, volunteering
is one of the best ways to do it. All volunteers will receive free race shirts, food after the race, a race bag and other promotional items as well.
