Location:  The race will be located near Mt. Ida, Arkansas in the very challenging Ouachita National Forest and the beautiful Lake Ouachita area. Race Headquarters, where racers will check-in and also start and finish the race, will be located at the Highway 27 Fishing Village and Campground, right on the banks of Lake Ouachita and deep in the heart of the Ouachita National Forest. The 3 Modes of Off-Road will take racers on the beautiful Lake Ouachita during the paddling leg, and racers will be challenged by the fantastic Womble Trail during the mountain biking and running portions of the race. This is a challenging location for a race of this length, so train hard and come prepared! Also, expect to see some fantastic views and remote locations in the "Natural State".

Dates and Times:  The 3 Modes of Off-Road will take place on August 10th - 12th. The paddling portion of the race will start at 8 AM on Friday, August 10th. The mountain biking leg of the race will start at 8 AM on Saturday, August 11th, and the trail running will start at 7 AM on Sunday, August 12th. Racer check-in and packet pick-up for all legs of the race will start at 5 PM and will remain open until 9 PM the day before each individual leg. It will also be open from 5 AM - 7 AM the morning before the paddling and mountain biking legs of the race and 5 AM - 6 AM the morning before the trail running leg. The pre-race briefing for each leg of the race will be held at 7:30 AM on race day, and 6:15 AM the morning of the trail running leg. Check in for the 3 Modes of Off-Road, for all three legs of the race, will be located at the Highway 27 Fishing Village and Campground.

The Course:

Paddling:  Decide between kayaking or canoeing on Friday morning. Paddle for ~ 30 miles for the long course, or ~ 15 miles for the short course. The paddling will take place on Lake Ouachita, and all paddlers will need basic navigation skills to stay on course. All paddlers will receive a map of the course on the lake, and will be required to stay on course during the paddle. There will be a separate kayak / canoe division for the race. There will be one or more aid stations on the course to verify the condition of all racers. There is a possibility that water, food and/or sports drinks will be provided by Bonk Hard Racing during this leg, but please plan on being self-suffcient on the paddle in terms of food and water. The start and finish location for the paddling leg is the Highway 27 Fishing Village and Campground.

Mountain Biking:  Get out on the Womble Trail and ride! Long course will be ~ 60 miles, and the short course is ~ 30 miles, all of which will be on singletrack trails, gravel roads and jeep roads. The majority of the mountain biking leg will be on single track trails, and will be in very challenging terrain, so please come prepared! The Ouachita National Forest offers excellent single track mountain biking trails, including the Womble Trail, one of the best in the Midwest. This will be a self-supported race, and all racers must come prepared to hydrate and fuel themselves during the race. There is a possibility for a couple of aid stations on the course, but don't plan on them!

Trail Running:  Choose between the trail marathon for the long course or the half-marathon for the short course! We will offer some aid stations on the course for the racers, but racers should come prepared to hydrate and fuel themselves for the majority of the race. Again, the trail running leg will be in extremely challenging terrain, and all racers should be prepared for a tough run!
* There will be no navigation required on the mountain biking and trail running legs of the race.
* Exact distances for the 3 Modes of Off-Road will be updated soon!

If you are unable to race, or just want to learn more about the 3 Modes of Off-Road and how it works, volunteering is one of the best ways to do it. All volunteers will receive free race shirts and other promotional items as well. If you would like to volunteer for the 3 Modes of Off-Road, please contact the race directors.
