COURSE:  
The 2014 Berryman will be 
one tough adventure.  There will be ONE course with a 16 hour time limit (with a short course option - explained at the Pre-Race meeting).  Racers should take this race very seriously!  You will need to come well-trained and well-prepared.  

Racers will enjoy racing in DEEP, DEEP backwoods forests. Racers should come prepared to complete 20 - 40 miles of mountain biking (on gravel roads, jeep roads and single track),  10 - 20 miles of running, trekking and bushwhacking and  10 - 15 miles of paddling

The entire course will be navigation based, and teams should be very proficient with using a map, compass, and UTM tool in order to find their way through the course.


DIVISIONS:  
The race is open to 2-person and 4-person teams (co-ed, male and female).


RACE FEES:

 $129/ person - Early Registration  (ends on July 21st)

 $139/ person - Normal Registration (ends on August 25th)

 $149/ person - Late Registration (after August 25th)

* Registration will close on September 8th, 2014.

* Race fees include land use fees, maps, canoes, paddles and PFDs, insurance, post-race food and drinks, t-shirts, prizes, give-a-ways and a fantastic adventure!


CANCELLATION:

  • $40 fee per person on or before Aug 25th
  • No refunds after Aug 25th



PRIZES & AWARDS CEREMONY:  
There will be an award ceremony after the race at a time TBD.

Racers on the TOP THREE teams OVERALL will receive the FIRST three picks of prizes from our great sponsors!

Prizes will be awarded 3 deep (1st, 2nd, & 3rd place teams will have a choice of prizes from our great sponsors!) based on the number of teams participating in each division on the day of the race.    
RACERS MUST BE PRESENT at the awards ceremony to receive prizes.

The following formula is applied: 
2 - 3 teams participating in division --- Division 1st place awarded 
4 - 5 teams participating in division --- Division 1st, 2nd places awarded
6 + teams participating in division --- Division 1st , 2nd, & 3rd places awarded 

We recommend that all teams stick around for the awards ceremony to congratulate the winning teams and take part in this festive atmosphere!


LODGING & CAMPING:

Our host hotel location will be located in St. Robert, MO approximately 40 minutes from the Race Start/HQ, at the:

All rooms will be $80 per night.   Call  573-336-3355 (HAMPTON) or  573-336-3553 (COMFORT INN) and ask for the "BERRYMAN" Rate.   NOTE:  This rate is only valid through bookings made on or before Sept 8th.


CAMPING:
Camping is available at the
GASCONADE HILLS RESORT located approximately 20 minutes from the Race Start/HQ.  It is a full service campground with campsites, RV hook-ups, and cabins/cottages.

RACER CHECK-IN & PRE-RACE MEETING:
Comfort Inn (host hotel complex-next to Hampton Inn)

St Robert, MO  (exit 159 or 161 on I-44)
Check-in at the breakfast area just off the lobby
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Pre-Race Meeting:
Parker Fine Arts Building (approx 10 minutes from racer check-in)
Waynesville Middle School
1001 Historic 66 (aka MO Hwy 17)
Waynesville, MO (exit 156 or 159 on I-44)
Meeting is in the theater/auditorium
8:00 PM

The check-in process should take about 5 minutes. Each team member will sign the standard racing waiver and receive their racer packet.  

Race map, clue sheet, and details  will be provided at the PRE-RACE MEETING.

GEAR CHECKS: 
There will be gear checks on the course.  Be prepared with 
required gear.  Failing a gear check will result in loss of a Checkpoint.  Teams finding more Checkpoints will automatically be ranked higher than those with less Checkpoints.


SUPPORT CREW:    
The Berryman Adventure race WILL NOT require a support crew and no racers are allowed to receive support of any kind on the course or at the Transition Areas from anyone not participating in the race.


VOLUNTEERS:  
Come be a part of the Midwest's premier adventure race!   Volunteering is an excellent way to get the feel and experience of an adventure race!  Great for your friends and family!  

Adventure racing would not be possible without the help of volunteers, and the Berryman Adventure is currently looking for outdoor-minded volunteers that are willing to help with the race!   All volunteers a free race shirt, and food after the race!   Plus an excellent time being an integral part of the experience on the course!!
